Cracked Wheel Repair
A cracked alloy wheel is one that has developed a fracture within the metal, often caused by sudden impact or prolonged stress. This type of damage isn’t always visible straight away but can worsen quickly if left untreated.
What causes a cracked wheel?
Cracks are most commonly caused by heavy impacts such as hitting potholes, kerbs, or uneven road surfaces. Severe jolts can weaken the structure of the wheel and cause the metal to split.
Why it’s dangerous
A cracked alloy wheel compromises the strength and safety of the wheel and can lead to air leaks, tyre deflation, and in serious cases, loss of control while driving. Because of the safety risks involved, cracked wheels should be inspected and repaired as soon as possible.
At Essex Power Coating, our experienced technicians carry out professional alloy wheel crack repairs using specialist welding techniques and high-quality materials. We repair the damage, prevent the crack from spreading, and restore the wheel’s structural integrity
