1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by Essex Powder Coating.
By booking work, leaving your wheels or vehicle with us, or authorising any service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services We Provide
2.1 Powder Coating (Primary Service)
- Full professional powder coating
- Wide choice of colours and finishes
- Chemical stripping / blasting included
- Industrial-grade curing processes
- Suitable for wheels, metal parts, and custom items
Powder coating is our main service and all work follows industry-standard application processes.
2.2 Alloy Wheel Refurbishment & Repairs
We offer full alloy wheel repair, including:
- Alloy wheel straightening
- Buckle repair
- Crack welding
- Structural repairs (where safe to do so)
- Cosmetic refurbishment
- Full wheel refurb packages
All structural work is subject to inspection and suitability.
2.3 Sandblasting & Surface Preparation
We provide:
- Bead blasting
- Media / sandblasting
- Full stripping
- Surface cleaning and preparation
This ensures the best foundation for coating and repairs.
2.4 Tyre, Valve & Sensor Handling
We accept wheels with tyres on or as bare wheels.
We handle:
- Tyre removal
- Valve removal
- TPMS sensor removal
- Tyre refitting
- Wheel balancing
We take great care, but are not responsible for failure of old, brittle, corroded or previously damaged valves, tyres or sensors.
Replacements can be supplied at extra cost.
2.5 Vehicle Handling (Car Drop-Off Service)
Customers may leave their car with us while the wheel work is carried out.
£40 charge applies for vehicle handling/storage
- The vehicle remains your responsibility while stored on-site
- We do not provide insurance cover beyond standard premises cover
If available, we can provide loan wheels (full set) for £40.
2.6 Collection & Delivery
Collection & delivery is available when arranged beforehand.
Charges vary depending on distance.
3. Quotes & Pricing
3.1 Quotes are valid for 30 days.
3.2 Additional costs may apply for:
- Seized bolts, stuck valves or seized TPMS sensors
- Extra labour needed for badly corroded wheels
- Additional repairs found after blasting
- Straightening or welding not visible beforehand
3.3 Any additional costs will be confirmed before continuing.
4. Deposits & Payments
4.1 Payment is due on collection unless otherwise agreed.
4.2 Special-order colours require a non-refundable deposit.
4.3 Work, wheels or vehicles will not be released until full payment is made.
4.4 Ownership of the finished work remains with us until payment is fully cleared.
5. Turnaround Times
5.1 Standard and express turnaround services available.
5.2 Turnaround times are estimates and not guaranteed.
5.3 We are not liable for delays caused by:
- Curing requirements
- Welding complexity
- Hidden damage
- Supplier delays
- Weather or workshop conditions
6. Welding, Straightening & Structural Repair Disclaimer
6.1 We carry out crack welding and wheel straightening safely and professionally, but:
- Not all wheels are safely repairable
- Previous repairs, hidden cracks or severe buckles may cause future failure
- Repaired wheels may not always pass MOT runout checks
- Structural repairs are carried out at the customer’s risk
6.2 If a wheel is judged unsafe to repair, we will inform you before any work continues.
7. Cancellation Policy
7.1 Once work has begun, jobs cannot be cancelled.
7.2 Special-order colour deposits are strictly non-refundable.
8. 3-Year Powder Coating Warranty
We provide a 3-year warranty on our powder coating application ONLY.
Covers:
- Peeling
- Flaking
- Cracking
- Premature coating failure caused by application error
Does NOT cover:
- Kerb damage
- Impact damage or stone chips
- Chemical damage
- Jet-wash or acid cleaner damage
- Corrosion or defects pre-existing in the wheel
- Structural failure or bending of the wheel
- Damage to sensors/valves that were already worn or corroded
Warranty Remedy
If approved, we will strip and recoat the item free of charge.
The warranty does NOT cover replacement of the wheel/item.
9. Rework Policy
9.1 Any concerns must be reported within 7 days of collection.
9.2 We will inspect the wheel/item and confirm if the issue is:
- A coating fault (free rework), or
- Caused by external damage (chargeable rework)
9.3 Items must be returned clean for inspection.
10. Liability
We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage
- Hidden defects uncovered during blasting
- Structural failures not caused by our work
- Damage after the item leaves our premises
- Losses caused by delays
- Consequential, business or indirect losses
Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.
11. Storage & Uncollected Items
11.1 Items not collected within 30 days may incur storage charges.
11.2 Items not collected after 60 days may be disposed of or sold to recover costs.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
