Important – Caliper Preparation

Brake calipers must be suitably dismantled before powder coating. Rubber seals, dust boots and other heat-sensitive components cannot remain fitted during the powder coating and oven-curing process.

If your calipers are still fully assembled, please contact us before ordering so we can advise what will be required.

Where dismantling is required, additional charges may apply. Depending on the age and condition of the caliper, replacement seals, components or a suitable rebuild kit may also be required before reassembly.

Any additional work or parts required will be discussed with you before proceeding where reasonably possible.

• Initial inspection of the caliper body
• Removal of the existing coating and contamination
• Thorough cleaning and preparation
• Media blasting to prepare the surface
• Masking of important mounting, threaded and sealing areas as required
• Primer applied where appropriate
• Powder coating in your chosen colour or finish
• Final oven cure
• Final visual inspection

Special-order powders and specialist finishes may carry an additional charge. A non-refundable deposit may be required where powder or materials are specially ordered for your job.

Caliper Condition

Used brake calipers may have corrosion, seized components, damaged bleed nipples, worn seals or other defects that only become apparent during inspection or dismantling.

Powder coating improves and protects the external finish of the prepared caliper body but does not repair internal mechanical or hydraulic faults.

If we discover an issue that materially affects the work required, we will discuss it with you before carrying out additional chargeable work where reasonably possible.
